Sweater Production Flow

From design to delivery โ€” 7 core production stages, 20 years of craftsmanship ensuring excellence in every sweater

01

Design, Sampling & Pattern Grading

Our professional design team creates styles, develops patterns and prepares color cards based on your requirements or references. Skilled pattern technicians calculate precise stitch counts, shaping curves and row ratios for back, front, sleeves and trims โ€” producing detailed technical specification sheets. First sample is made to confirm fit, measurements and craftsmanship before bulk production.

02

Yarn Sourcing & Testing

We source premium yarns including wool, cashmere, cotton, acrylic and blends. Incoming yarn undergoes strict quality control: yarn count verification, evenness testing, color fastness grading, pilling resistance and tensile strength โ€” all must pass before production. Hank yarn is wound into cone form suitable for flat knitting machines.

03

Computerized Flat Knitting

Fully automatic flat knitting machines (Stoll, Shima Seiki, Cixing) knit precise panels per the technical spec โ€” front, back, sleeves, collars and rib trims. Our machine fleet covers gauges 3G, 5G, 7G and 12G, from chunky coats to fine-gauge lightweight styles. Supports a full range of stitch structures: jersey, 1ร—1 / 2ร—2 rib, jacquard, cable, waffle, drop needle and pique. Panels are inspected for dropped stitches, holes and tension consistency before assembly.

04

Linking & Hand Finishing

Experienced linking operators use linking machines to precisely join panels โ€” setting sleeves, side seams, collars and cuffs with matching stitch counts and clean seams. Hand finishers handle details machines cannot: weaving in ends, grafting V-points, picking stitches and trimming loose threads. A linking apprentice typically takes about two years to master the craft.

05

Washing & Blocking

Professional washing process gives sweaters soft hand feel and stable shape: milling creates a fine nap surface, softener improves touch, and steam pressing / blocking sets the final form. Washing formula, temperature and timing are strictly controlled to ensure size tolerance within ยฑ1โ€“1.5 cm with zero shrinkage or distortion.

06

Quality Control & Mending

Three-stage QC ensures quality at every step: โ‘  Panel inspection โ€” dropped stitches, holes, stitch tension, measurements; โ‘ก Seam inspection โ€” seam tension, missed stitches, shoulder balance, armhole alignment; โ‘ข Final inspection / AQL audit โ€” appearance, defects, sizing, shading. Menders repair minor issues on the spot. 99%+ pass rate for bulk orders.

Pressing, Packaging & Shipping

After final steam pressing, garments go through packaging: de-linting and thread trimming, attaching main / care labels, hang tags and price tickets, then folded or hung per customer specification. Sorted by color and size, packed into export cartons with correct shipping marks. FOB, CIF and DDP trade terms available โ€” delivered worldwide by sea, air or express on schedule.

FAQ

Here are the most frequently asked questions

QWhat is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

Our MOQ is very flexible. Regular styles start from 50 pieces. Special styles or complex craftsmanship may require a slightly higher MOQ. For new customers, we encourage small trial orders to reduce your risk.

QHow long does sampling take and how much does it cost?

Regular styles take 3-5 days for sampling, complex styles take 5-7 days. Sampling fees depend on complexity, usually $15-$50 per piece. After placing a bulk order that meets a certain quantity, the sampling fee can be refunded.

QWhat is the bulk production lead time?

Small batch orders (50-500 pcs) usually take 7-10 days, medium batches (500-2000 pcs) take 10-15 days, and large volume orders (2000+ pcs) take 15-25 days. Exact lead time depends on style complexity and order quantity.

QWhat payment terms do you offer?

Standard payment terms: 30% deposit + 70% before shipment. We accept bank transfer, PayPal, Western Union, T/T, and more. Flexible payment terms can be negotiated for long-term partners.

QWhich countries can you export to?

We can export to most countries and regions worldwide, including the US, Canada, EU countries, UK, Australia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and more. We have extensive foreign trade experience and can assist with customs clearance and logistics.
